Baby Steps

I have never been a patient person...at least not by my own standard. My daughters say I am patient, but I don't see it. When I was growing up, my mom would say, "Rome wasn't built in a day." Or, "Stop wishing your life away," whenever I would grow impatient and want to hurry up and reach milestones in my life.

You would think that now that I am older, I would be more "chill" in my life. Instead, I see the limited amount of time that I have left to accomplish the things on my "to do" list.

When we moved back to Indiana from Kentucky and I had to let go of the things that we built there, a total house reno, friendships and a business, I became driven to start our wedding barn again as soon as possible.

We are on the road to starting again, but the pace seems painfully slow. We have a farm now, 40 beautiful rolling acres and limited neighbors and we love it! But, there is no barn...yet!

Our plan is to have some outdoor weddings this summer and get our name out there again. While we design the barn, make a business plan, and decide what other amenities we want to add around the barn, we will be getting our feet wet, one baby step at a time.

Another area where I have branched out that has always been of interest, is renting booth space at a local antique/decor mall! I have been putting items in there that I no longer need, vintage quilted bears, farmhouse decor, signs that I have painted, and so on. It's been really fun! I hope to expand that with some help from friends who have crafts they make and want to sell. One day, I will open a retail shop and have a lovely space for country chic clothes, great farmhouse decor, delicious coffee and desserts and a place to sit and visit with friends, talk about our love for Jesus and farm life and listen to good music!

But for now, it's baby steps...

Blessings on all of you and on this new year!
